Mattea Meisner, RMT

Mattea MeisnerHi there! I'm Mattea and I am excited to be part of the BodyMends team!

I am an honours graduate from Eastern College with a Diploma of Massage Therapy (2013). Throughout my program, I had the opportunity to apply my knowledge and skills to treat multiple pathologies in the clinic facility, such as Plantar Fasciitis, Frozen Shoulder, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, Whiplash, Fibromyalgia and Torticollis. Since graduating, I have gained additional experience in treating arthritic conditions, scar tissue, postural stress, repetitive strain injuries and post-surgery recovery clients. In 2014, I obtained my certifications in Indian Head Massage and Hand Reflexology.

In treatments, I incorporate Swedish massage, Trigger Point Therapy, joint mobilizations, stretching and strengthening and range of motion of the joints, to provide an effective treatment plan for each individual client.

I encourage my clients to do their home care activities, whether it's simply an Epsom salt bath, stretches, strengthening, posture correcting or trying a different sleeping position; these can all help alleviate your pain and/or discomfort. Together, we can accomplish your goals. I look forward to seeing you soon!

Alisa Brown, RMT

Alisa BrownHi! My name is Alisa Brown and I have been a member of the BodyMends Massage Therapy team since 2008. Prior to this, I was a practicing Registered Massage Therapist in the province of New Brunswick for seven years. I am currently a practicing Occupational Therapist; however I continue to work as a Massage Therapist on a part time basis.

Through my experience, I have developed techniques to integrate different aspects of my education together for optimum therapeutic benefit. I specialize in the relief of chronic pain patterns whether they are trigger point pain, repetitive stress injuries, headaches or general tension.

I have had considerable success in treating a wide range of chronic problems with massage therapy and re-educating my clients on correct posture, nutrition, and stretching and strengthening muscles that have been weakened or injured. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your health goals.

She enjoys the hands-on aspect of the job and specializes in sport, deep tissue and pregnancy massage, as well as Kinesio Taping and Trigger Point Release. She takes advantage of new learning opportunities within her profession and her experience to stay current in this constantly changing medical environment, in order to safely assess and treat clients.
