Alisa Brown, RMT
Hi! My name is Alisa Brown and I have been a member of the BodyMends Massage Therapy team since 2008. Prior to this, I was a practicing Registered Massage Therapist in the province of New Brunswick for seven years. I am currently a practicing Occupational Therapist; however I continue to work as a Massage Therapist on a part time basis.
Through my experience, I have developed techniques to integrate different aspects of my education together for optimum therapeutic benefit. I specialize in the relief of chronic pain patterns whether they are trigger point pain, repetitive stress injuries, headaches or general tension.
I have had considerable success in treating a wide range of chronic problems with massage therapy and re-educating my clients on correct posture, nutrition, and stretching and strengthening muscles that have been weakened or injured. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your health goals.
Sarah Martin, RMT
Sarah chose to pursue a career in massage therapy as a result of her dedicated passion for helping others. In 2006, she graduated from a 2200 hour massage therapy program at ICT Northumberland College and became a member of the Massage Therapy Association of Nova Scotia.
Sarah assesses and treats a wide variety of clients. She enjoys the hands-on aspect of the job and specializes in sport, deep tissue and pregnancy massage, as well as Kinesio Taping and Trigger Point Release. She takes advantage of new learning opportunities within her profession and her experience to stay current in this constantly changing medical environment, in order to safely assess and treat clients.
Sarah takes pleasure in meeting new people and helping them at a therapeutic level. Whether treating chronic pain, tendonitis, or aiding in the preparation of a marathon – the challenges of this job keep her on her toes! She is happy to be the newest member of the BodyMends team and hopes to help the team forever treat your body right.
Cindy Whynacht, RMT
Hi my name is Cindy Whynacht and I have been practicing massage therapy for fourteen years. My passion is to help others through massage and I reap great rewards from contributing to the health and well-being of my clients. My desire to be self-employed resulted in opening my own practice in 2004 and in 2007, BodyMends expanded and relocated to 1725 Barrington Street.
In 1999, I graduated from a two-year, 2200-hour diploma massage therapy program, offered by ICT Northumberland College in Halifax, NS. In 2005, I earned the designation of Professional Aromatherapist from Casaroma Wellness Centre. I am a registered member in good standing with the Massage Therapy Association of Nova Scotia (MTANS) and am certified in CPR and First Aid.
Regardless of your reasons for seeking massage, I am confident that together, we can implement a treatment plan that meets your needs. They say the best jobs in life are those that do not feel like work. It is safe to say that I have the best job ever!
