Hi! My name is Alisa Brown and I have been a member of the BodyMends Massage Therapy team since 2008. Prior to this, I was a practicing Registered Massage Therapist in the province of New Brunswick for seven years. I am currently a practicing Occupational Therapist; however I continue to work as a Massage Therapist on a part time basis.
Through my experience, I have developed techniques to integrate different aspects of my education together for optimum therapeutic benefit. I specialize in the relief of chronic pain patterns whether they are trigger point pain, repetitive stress injuries, headaches or general tension.
I have had considerable success in treating a wide range of chronic problems with massage therapy and re-educating my clients on correct posture, nutrition, and stretching and strengthening muscles that have been weakened or injured. I look forward to working with you and helping you achieve your health goals.
Michelle Dicks, RMT
Hi there! As a massage therapist, I take great interest in learning more about pain and whether it is chronic or stress related. My goal when treating clients is to alleviate the immediate problem but also to help resolve any long-term ailments.
I have educated myself on infant and toddler massage and have significant experience working with children. My specialty is pregnancy massage, especially women with high-risk pregnancies. I enjoy working with these clients and providing advice to help them ease into this stage of their lives.
I graduated from the 2200-hour massage therapy program at ICT Northumberland College in Halifax and have six years experience in the field. I am a member in good standing with the Massage Therapy Association of Nova Scotia and am trained in CPR and First Aid.
Whether you are choosing massage for relaxation or to target a particular problem area, I am sure that I can help. I work flexible hours to accommodate your schedule where possible and look forward to helping you achieve your health goals.
